Job summary

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs is seeking an Officer I in Security to uphold five-star standards and provide discreet, proactive protection for guests and staff. The role involves patrols, access control, and responding to incidents to maintain a safe environment across the resort.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or GED), a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. Flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays is required; training and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Previous security or hospitality experience preferred; relevant education and background considered.
• Valid driver’s license required; may involve transporting equipment; 18+ required for Broadmoor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior, perimeter, grounds, and public spaces to identify safety risks.
• Monitor entrances, verify credentials, manage access, and secure doors.
• Coordinate calm response to medical emergencies, fires, safety hazards.
• Discreetly assist VIPs, guests, and staff as directed by executive staff.
• Document and store lost-and-found items and reunite owners.
• Oversee traffic control and parking assignments for guests and staff.
• Complete required hotel security training and maintain proficiency.
• Provide overnight security coverage for in-house groups.
• Ensure compliance with Broadmoor guidelines and Five-Star standards.
• Learn Broadmoor history, estates, and offerings; perform additional duties as needed.

Job Summary:

As Security Officer I, you will be responsible maintain a safe, secure, and discreet environment for high-profile guests, visitors, and employees while upholding five-star Broadmoor standards, regulations, directives and policies. Learn more about Broadmoor here.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of the shift on foot, walking the interior, perimeter, grounds, parking structures, and public spaces of the hotel to identify safety risks or undesirable conditions.
• Monitor entrances, verify staff credentials, manage visitor access, and secure doors or restricted areas.
• Coordinate calm, rational response to medical emergencies, fires, safety hazards, and threats to life or property.
• Discretely assist providing information and guide, also transportation, or safety escorts to VIP’s, guests and international employees as directed by the executive staff.
• Responsible for accurately documenting and securely storing lost-and-found items, as well as ensuring the proper reunification of lost property with its rightful owner.
• Perform duties related to traffic control and parking assignments for hotel guests, employees, vendors, and other visitors.
• Completes all required hotel security training and demonstrates ongoing proficiency in the procedures, responsibilities, and daily operations of a Loss Prevention Officer.
• Provides overnight security coverage for in-house groups and other hotel occupants, ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the property.
• Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
• Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for

• Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Previous experience in security-related or hospitality is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
• A valid driver’s license is required, as this role may involve transporting equipment across the Resort. Please note that all employees operating Broadmoor vehicles must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
• A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
