Job summary

Allied Universal in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a full-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to protect government facilities and serve visitors with professional customer service.

You will patrol assigned areas, monitor access points, and report incidents, while maintaining a visible presence to deter security concerns. CPR is preferred; applicants must meet minimum age and education requirements and pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following security procedures and post orders at government facilities.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe individuals entering/leaving; report suspicious activity and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and professionally following escalation procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports and daily logs; communicate information to supervisors and client representatives.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe individuals entering and leaving the location, reporting suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and daily logs, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
