Job summary

Allied Universal in Chicago, IL is hiring a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Licensed Patrol Driver to serve students, faculty and visitors while patrolling campus buildings, parking facilities and walkways.

This role requires a valid driver's license, and uses your customer service skills to deter incidents, respond to alarms, document observations, and support access control and event activities.

Qualifications

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and surrounding perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to appropriate campus personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and campus event support while maintaining a professional presence at the location.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
