Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time Screening Checkpoint in Gaithersburg, MD. You will protect clients across government locations, operate screening equipment, and maintain a welcoming environment while following policy and procedure.

The role demands attention to detail, strong customer service, and experience with access control. You will work a 5-day schedule, with a consistent 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift, and earn $22.09 per hour plus benefits and training

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as allowed by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while carrying out screening procedures at a government location.
• Screen individuals and belongings using screening equipment and report concerns.
• Verify access credentials and direct visitors per site procedures.

Pay Rate: $22.09 / Hour

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Fri: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen individuals and belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; identify prohibited items and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Verify access credentials and direct visitors to designated areas in accordance with entry requirements and site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs and complete required reports related to screening activities, visitor access, and incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
