Responsibilities

• Verify identification, credentials, and authorized access for visitors and personnel entering restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Maintain accurate screening logs and visitor records; communicate professionally with government personnel.

As a Security Officer Part Time Screening Intake in Rockville, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate:

$22.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Wed 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; identify prohibited items and report concerns according to site protocols.
• Verify identification, credentials, and authorized access permissions for visitors, contractors, and personnel entering restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Maintain accurate screening logs, incident reports, and visitor records while communicating professionally with government personnel and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
