Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol Emergency Coordination in CHICAGO, IL. You will serve and safeguard clients across Education and other sectors, delivering a visible presence and rapid response while providing outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Minimum requirements include at least one year in security, an armed guard card, 21+ years old, a high school diploma, and willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Armed guard card or license required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly following campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting unusual conditions or policy violations.
• Complete accurate logs, incident reports, and communicate during shift transitions.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and daily documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
