Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Perimeter Patrol in Chicago, IL to protect clients and deter incidents through visible patrols and rapid response. You will engage with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners with professional customer service.

The role requires an armed guard card, at least one year of armed security or law enforcement experience, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for incidents, patrols, and security-related observations.

What You'll Do
