Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer in Chester, VA for a full-time admissions screening role at a high-traffic technology location. You will provide customer service, screen personnel and deliveries, and monitor access points while following site policies and emergency procedures.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a guard card/license (preferred), and CPR/First Aid (preferred). Background checks and a drug screen apply where allowed by law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a high-traffic technology location.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries according to site access requirements; verify credentials.
• Monitor access points and screening equipment; report unusual activity to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas, entry locations and surrounding perimeter.

Job Schedule

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a high-traffic technology location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and deliveries according to site access requirements; verify credentials and direct individuals to appropriate entry points or reception areas.
• Monitor access points and screening equipment, identify prohibited or unauthorized items, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry locations, and the surrounding perimeter, as site conditions require.

Minimum Requirements

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
