Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect patients, staff and property. You will work full-time on a 4-day week schedule with three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift, including every other Friday and some weekend coverage.

Responsibilities include responding to calls, patrolling campuses, enforcing safety protocols, and reporting incidents according to policy. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and ability to obtain BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Driver's License required.
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire; Use of Force certification with OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months.

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions or responds accordingly.
• Investigates incidents, completes incident reports and reports to proper authority as appropriate.
• Subdues and/or de-escalates high-stress, tense situations involving combative individuals for an unknown period.
• Assists with monthly fire safety checks (fire extinguishers and exit signs).
• Performs routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus and issues parking violations; assists with traffic control as needed.

Security Officer

Full Time, 4 Days/Week - Three 12 Hour Shifts and One 6 Hour Shift

6a-6p and Every Other Friday from Either 6a-12p or 12p-6p

Schedule will also consist with part of the 12-hour shifts being every other weekend.

Provides security and protection to the person and property of those entering Baptist Health Paducah and secondary buildings associated with the operations of Baptist Health buildings, equipment, supplies, and report any misuse of any hospital buildings, equipment, and properties.

Job Duties:

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly.
• Investigates all incidents involving criminal matters, completes an incident report and reports such matters as appropriate to the proper authority.
• Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combative person(s) for an unknown period of time.
• Able to assist and complete required fire checks (Fire Extinguishers and Exit Signs on a monthly basis.)
• Conducts routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus and issue parking violations and assist with traffic control as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Driver's License
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire. Use of Force certification, including exposure to OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months

Preferred Requirements:

• Two (2) years' experience in the field of Law Enforcement, Security, Military and/or Corrections
