Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a Security Officer on a PRN basis to protect patients, staff, and hospital property. The role covers the main campus and associated facilities, responding to calls for service and ensuring safety across the site.

The position requires de-escalation skills, incident reporting, and adherence to security protocols. It includes routine fire safety checks and traffic control support as needed to maintain a secure hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Use of Force certification and exposure to OC spray and Taser training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Answers all calls for service and responds accordingly.
• Investigates incidents, completes incident reports and notifies authorities as appropriate.
• Subdues and/or de-escalates high-stress, tense situations involving combative individuals for an unknown period.
• Assists with required fire checks (fire extinguishers and exit signs on a monthly basis).
• Conducts routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus; issues parking violations and assists with traffic control as needed.
