Job summary

Allied Universal in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) to protect clients in aerospace/defense locations and provide outstanding customer service.

As a Part Time Unarmed Officer you will monitor facilities, deter security incidents, and respond to alarms while representing Allied Universal’s values of integrity and people-first service.

The role offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform with a pay rate of $19.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or vendors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, and/or policy violations.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities accurately and promptly in accordance with site requirements.
