Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Data Entry in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic aerospace and defense location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document security-related activity using technology, and support a professional environment through teamwork, integrity, and Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.


• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorizations, and maintain accurate entry and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting protocols.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, grounds, restricted areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.


• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding observations, policy concerns, and security-related incidents.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.


• CPR certification is preferred.


• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
