Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Norfolk, VA. You will patrol campus environments, deter incidents, and deliver friendly customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Shifts are day-time and evening, with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. You must be at least 18, have a high school diploma, and pass background and drug screening. Allied Universal is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify hazards or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in required reports and logs.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations accurately in required reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
