As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Mobile Patrol Driver in SANTA CRUZ, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue08:00 PM - 04:00 AMFri08:00 PM - 04:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of municipal buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, public inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and public agencies as directed.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned locations, documenting security‑related incidents, patrols, and observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with traffic, pedestrian, and event‑related support as assigned while maintaining a professional presence at government facilities and public locations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
