Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer – Driver Patrol Operations in Santa Cruz, CA. You will provide customer service, perform patrols, and communicate professionally with staff and the public while ensuring safety and security.

This driving role requires a valid driver's license and a reliable, team-focused mindset. The schedule is Mon-Wed 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM with a pay rate of $21.94 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal policy.
• Background checks and drug screening will be conducted as per law.
• Guard card or license is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist visitors, and communicate professionally with staff and the public. This driving position requires a valid driver's license in accordance with Allied Universal policy. Pay Rate: $21.94 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Tue 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Wed 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, community members, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public parks and recreational areas.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of park grounds, facilities, parking areas, trails, playgrounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points, park facilities, and public-use areas; report suspicious activity, hazards, damage, or policy violations according to location procedures.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, maintaining professional interactions with members of the public and government personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
