Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in San Carlos, CA. This role provides reliable, fixed-Shift hours at a designated site with opportunities to earn more by picking up additional shifts across multiple sites.

The position offers part-time hours, a base schedule with anchor shifts, and the potential to scale up to 40 hours per week. A driver’s license and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation as required by law.
• A drug screen may be required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior or policy violations according to procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, seeking assistance when needed.
• Prepare clear reports and maintain communication with site contacts, dispatch, and public-service personnel.

• Fri: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or policy violations according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, requesting additional assistance when needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain communication with site contacts, dispatch, and/or responding public‑service personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
