Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Coverage in Reston, VA. This role provides flexible, reliable hours with a base site schedule and options to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $21.74 per hour. The position requires a Virginia DCJS license, six months of security experience, and adherence to background checks and drug screening. Must be 21+ for armed roles.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Coverage in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.74 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat06:00 AM - 03:00 PMSun08:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, critical situations, and requests for assistance in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site protocols and applicable laws.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and investigate unusual conditions, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least six months of security-related experience.
• Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security-related license is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
