Job summary

Allied Universal®'s Reston, VA location is seeking a part-time Security Officer Armed Patrol Compliance to safeguard patients, visitors, and staff at healthcare facilities. You will perform armed patrols, monitor access points, and respond to alarms in accordance with site protocols.

This role offers flexible hours and the chance to develop security skills while working within a professional, supportive team environment. A valid Virginia DCJS license and security experience are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of security-related experience.
• Virginia DCJS license required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Baton certification preferred.
• Armed roles require at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and access-control procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Carry assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, applicable laws, and post orders, and complete accurate activity and incident documentation.

Pay Rate: $21.74 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeSat03:00 PM - 12:30 AMSun02:00 PM - 08:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
