Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Reston, VA. This role offers reliable, flexible hours with fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Responsibilities include conducting armed patrols across healthcare facilities, responding to emergencies, controlling access, and preparing patrol reports. A guard license and Virginia DCJS credential are required.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors as part of site procedures.
• Armed security duties and regular patrols of facilities and perimeters.
• Prepare clear, accurate patrol and incident reports for management.
• Background check and drug screen as required by policy.

• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeters, reporting unusual conditions and potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical‑related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor, employee, and vendor access in accordance with facility policies while helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed DCJS Patrol in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

$21.74 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and surrounding perimeters, reporting unusual conditions and potential concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least two years of security‑related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
