Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer, Armed Patrol Compliance, in Reston, VA. The role focuses on protecting patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare setting while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a visible security presence.

Responsibilities include armed patrols, incident response, access control, and accurate incident reporting. Candidates should have at least 6 months of security experience and a VA DCJS license; CPR, pepper spray, and baton

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience required.
• Virginia DCJS license required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Pepper spray certification preferred.
• Baton certification preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be performed as part of employment process.
• Driver’s license required only for driving positions.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor screening, directions, and access-control procedures in accordance with site requirements.
• Carry assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policy, applicable laws, and post orders, and complete accurate activity and incident documentation.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $21.74 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 03:00 PM - 12:30 AM
• Sun: 02:00 PM - 08:30 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess a Virginia DCJS license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
