Allied Universal in Tampa, FL is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Access Control Operations. This role provides reliable, flexible hours at an assigned site with the option to earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $17.00 per hour with a part-time schedule that includes DayTime Thur 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM. Candidates should have a high school diploma, preferred guard card, and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents calmly and follow escalation/reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and facility areas; conditions may vary by location.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Operations in Tampa, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeThur10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking parttime employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or irregular activity.
• Coordinate entry and exit procedures for deliveries and outbound shipments in a food and beverage production or distribution location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facility areas, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with access control and badge processes is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
