Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background checks will be performed as required by law.
• A drug screen may be required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply and vary by location.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial institution by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain access records.
• Respond to access‑control alarms and incidents in a calm, professional manner and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.
• Communicate professionally with clients, employees, visitors, and law enforcement to maintain a welcoming environment.

As a Security Officer Access Desk in Tampa, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.11 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri, 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial institution by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain access‑related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access‑control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, lobby areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security‑related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with clients, employees, visitors, and law enforcement personnel while supporting a welcoming and controlled environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
