Allied Universal in Houston, TX is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced. The role offers flexible hours with fixed anchor shifts and opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

Earn $22.00 per hour, with a schedule that includes day and night coverage to support a busy retail site. The position requires 3+ years of combined security or related experience (or 5+ years armed security), a Texas Level III Armed Certification, a valid driver’s license, and passing background and drug screenings.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of the retail location, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Respond to incidents calmly and in line with site procedures and laws.
• Maintain armed equipment per Allied Universal policy and post orders.
• Document patrols and incidents and inform site contacts and leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Security Driver Patrol in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, parking areas, delivery areas, and perimeter to help identify and report security‑related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and applicable laws.
• Maintain authorized armed equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable regulations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observed conditions accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years of armed security‑related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
