Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Response to join our team. The role offers flexible, anchor shifts with fixed hours, plus the opportunity to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will patrol, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents while upholding our commitment to safety and customer service. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, Texas Level III Armed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Military Police or Corrections Officer, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Level III Armed Certification in Texas is required.
• Background check and drug screen required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as required, and assist with visitor direction and facility access procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related events.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess 3+ years of experience as a Military Police or Corrections Officer, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• An Armed Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security‑related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
