Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver Deterrence in Houston, TX. This role offers reliable, flexible hours with anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform. Pay rate is $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include security procedures, patrols, incident response, and maintaining armed post qualifications. Minimum requirements include 3–5 years of armed security or related experience, Texas Level III

Qualifications

• At least 3 years combined law enforcement, corrections, and/or military experience, or at least 5 years armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws; driver license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail grocery location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with store leadership and emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of the store interior, parking areas, delivery zones, and surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, policy violations, and incidents according to site procedures.
• Maintain armed post qualifications, follow applicable laws and Allied Universal procedures, and complete accurate activity and incident documentation.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver Deterrence in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 03:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 10:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
