Responsibilities

1. Under occasional supervision, maintains security at the University's main entrance, residence hall, or other assigned post and patrols campus, performing general security duties to ensure the enforcement of laws and university rules. Reports to the Chief of Police.
2. Receives and transmits radio and telephone messages related to law enforcement, dispatches personnel and equipment, ensuring accurate and courteous communication.
3. Maintains logs of dispatches and operates DCI/NCIC systems to enter and retrieve information on stolen vehicles, wanted persons, and other data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
4. Issues keys and equipment to authorized personnel, maintaining logs of issued items.
5. Directs traffic, manages parking requests, and enforces parking regulations to ensure safety and protocol adherence.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of security or law enforcement experience preferred. Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required for some roles. Additional training and experience may be considered.
