Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Customer Experience in Philadelphia, PA. You will monitor campus areas, deter incidents, and provide welcoming, professional service to students, staff, and visitors.

This role supports a flexible daytime schedule, with shifts posted on the Claim a Shift platform. A high school diploma is required and a background check plus drug screen apply.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by federal, state and local laws; drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws; valid driver’s license for driving positions if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency responses as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents and access concerns calmly, following site protocols.
• Monitor access points and assist visitors with directions and inquiries, reporting maintenance or security concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, campus‑related inquiries, and reporting of maintenance or security‑related concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
