Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking an Armed Security Officer for an Atlanta government location. You will conduct patrols, monitor access, deter incidents, and deliver professional customer service while upholding site policies.

The role requires at least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience, plus compliance with licensing, background checks, and drug screening. Training and career growth are available.

Qualifications

• Armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience (minimum 1 year).
• CPR and first aid certification preferred.
• Ability to lift 20+ pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screening required by Allied Universal.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; report unauthorized access attempts to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following procedures and laws.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

Pay Rate: $21.75 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 10:00 AM - 08:00 PM
• Tue: 10:00 AM - 08:00 PM
• Fri: 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sat: 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; report unauthorized access attempts and other security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and applicable laws.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and activity logs, documenting patrols, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• CPR and first aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
