Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer Enhanced Part Time for Houston, TX. This role provides security at a retail site with fixed shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $22.00 per hour, with minimum requirements including 21+ years of age, valid Driver's License, and 3+ years of combined law enforcement/corrections/military or 5+ years armed security. This is a part-time, on-site position with potential for growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and security procedures at a retail location, following site policies.
• Conduct armed patrols of store and surrounding areas to deter incidents.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and disturbances following site procedures.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity and hazards.
• Maintain incident reports, patrol logs, and shift records; handle equipment as required.

Job Schedule:

Mon 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the store, parking areas, delivery areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location; report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain required documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity records, and handle authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years’ combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
