Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Armed Patrol Customer Service in Reston, VA. You will provide security and exceptional customer service at a technology and telecommunications location, conduct patrols, deter incidents, and respond professionally.

This full-time role offers daytime shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, four days a week, with a $35.00 hourly rate and opportunities for training, growth, and benefits through Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Must be 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen per law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and in line with site protocols.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and document activity.
• Carry authorized equipment and complete reports and shift logs.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Customer Service in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to situations with professionalism. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a technology and telecommunications location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site protocols and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site requirements.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, applicable laws, and site-specific procedures; complete accurate reports and shift activity logs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
