Allied Universal’s Herndon, VA location seeks a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Preparedness. You will monitor, patrol, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Preparedness in Herndon, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of technology and research facilities, including business areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and document entries, incidents, and observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts as directed.
• Support a professional, orderly environment by communicating clearly with personnel and following applicable security-related policies and reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
