Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Armed Patrol) in Ashburn, VA to protect students, staff and visitors while delivering excellent customer service. You will perform routine armed patrols, monitor entrances and respond to incidents in accordance with school and local procedures.

The role requires an armed guard card or license, a high school diploma, and the ability to work a scheduled shift (Mon & Wed 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM).

• Willingness to obtain required certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional manner following school and local procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, report suspicious activity, and maintain incident documentation.
• Collaborate with administrators and first responders to support a safe learning environment.

You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting students, staff, and visitors. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $26.62 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:30 PM - 08:30 PM
• Wed 02:30 PM - 08:30 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at educational facilities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established school and local procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of school buildings, parking areas, athletic facilities, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior or policy violations, and maintain clear, timely incident documentation.
• Collaborate with school administrators, staff, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership to support a professional and welcoming learning environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Baton certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
