Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Driver for a Columbus, NE location. You will guard clients across various sectors, support access control, visitor management, and campus communications while providing a welcoming, safe environment. A valid driver’s license is required and CPR certification is preferred.

The role includes front desk duties and responding to incidents. The position is full-time with day-evening shifts and requires a background check and drug screening

Qualifications

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access-control practices, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, manage visitor sign‑in processes, and communicate applicable campus entry requirements.
• Monitor access to the location, verify identification and/or visitor credentials as required, and report unusual activity or access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency and incident‑reporting procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and provide clear communication to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge system experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
