Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Access Control Driver in Columbus, NE. You will provide a welcoming front desk presence, manage access control, visitor sign-in, and respond to incidents, while ensuring safety and customer service for students, staff, and guests.

This full-time driving role requires a valid driver’s license; CPR is preferred.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control Driver in Columbus, NE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional at an educational location, you will provide a welcoming presence while supporting access control, visitor management, and security-related communications. You will assist students, staff, and guests, respond to alarms or incidents, and help maintain an orderly environment. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, manage visitor sign-in processes, and communicate applicable campus entry requirements.
• Monitor access to the location, verify identification and/or visitor credentials as required, and report unusual activity or access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency and incident-reporting procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and provide clear communication to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge system experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
