Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Access Control Driver in Normal, IL, to patrol automotive locations, deter incidents, and manage access control while delivering exceptional customer service.

The role includes responding to alarms and incidents, performing patrols, and reporting daily activities to site leadership. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background checks are required, with some security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license per policy requirements.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of automotive manufacturing, warehouse, parking, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns to appropriate site personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives regarding incidents and daily activities.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
