Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Mobile Patrol in Normal, IL. You will provide customer service, perform unarmed patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

This role offers a flexible part-time schedule with evening shifts and driving responsibilities; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigations and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures at an automotive manufacturing location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, parking lots, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities through required reports.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an automotive manufacturing location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, parking lots, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities through required reports and communication channels.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
