Job summary

Amazon’s Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) seeks a Security and Loss Prevention Specialist (SLP Specialist) to lead safety efforts in a designated building within the San Diego area. This hourly role focuses on protecting people, product and data, reporting to the cluster manager and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will conduct investigations, identify vulnerabilities, and coordinate with internal and external partners to reduce risk while supporting 24/7 operations, nights,

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience, or 1+ year in security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, or operations, or Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, in a professional capacity.
• Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and Business Continuity planning experience.
• Experience making data-driven decisions by leveraging data and metrics.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration across all business levels.
• 1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience.
• Investigative interviewing experience or relevant certifications.
• Experience in physical security systems maintenance and coordinating with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct confidential investigations and prepare written reports of theft, fraud, and incidents.
• Identify vulnerabilities and define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with standards.
• Serve as security liaison and crisis management expert for site leadership.
• Develop alarm-reduction strategies and diagnose system issues with partners.
