Job summary

American Ordnance, a Day & Zimmermann Company, is seeking a qualified Guard Lieutenant to supervise security operations at our Middletown facility. The role focuses on protecting personnel and assets while coordinating the hourly guard force.

You will oversee training, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with plant rules. A valid REAL ID or passport is required, along with security experience and the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
• Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or current Passport.
• 2+ years related security experience Required.
• Supervisory experience Preferred.
• Must pass quarterly and yearly physical agility testing.
• Must be able to obtain secret clearance.
• A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment.
• Great attitude and team player!

Responsibilities

• Supervises hourly guard force; dispatcher duties, daily guard mounts, issuing weapons and ammunition, personnel performance counseling, vehicle assignment, CCTV monitoring, and inventories.
• Directs daily activities while responsible for training, inspection, and performance of the hourly guard force.
• Maintains security processes; issues daily orders (written and verbal); aligns communications with security policies and procedures.
• Processes NCIC background checks, creates badges, and assists with lock and key processes as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of Plant rules and regulations and enforces them with the guard force.
