Job summary

Day & Zimmermann is seeking a Guard Lieutenant to supervise the hourly guard force and oversee daily security operations in Iowa. The role requires managing dispatch, supervision, training, and ensuring adherence to security policies.

A valid REAL ID or passport, and 2+ years of security experience are required. The position emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and collaboration with team members to maintain a secure environment while supporting company goals.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or current Passport.
• 2+ years related security experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass quarterly and yearly physical agility testing.
• Must be able to obtain secret clearance.
• A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for a cohesive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the hourly guard force, including dispatcher duties, daily guard mounts, issuing weapons and ammunition, and daily inventories.
• Directs daily activities and oversees training, inspection, and performance of guards.
• Maintains up-to-date security documents and issues written and verbal orders.
• Performs NCIC background checks, creates badges, and assists with lock and key processes.
• Enforces plant rules and regulations with the guard force.
