Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Lobby Officer to provide professional customer-focused security and life safety services at a Manhattan location. You will greet guests, monitor entrances, patrol areas, and enforce policies while maintaining a professional demeanor.

This full-time role requires a valid security license, reliable transport, and the ability to document incidents clearly. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered, with a standard Monday–Friday 10am–6pm

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses required.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills and ability to operate security and communication devices.
• Write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and who the customers, tenants, visitors are.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests professionally.
• Answer questions and assist guests and employees in a customer-focused manner.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know and enforce facility policies and procedures within limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action planning and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
