Allied Universal in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol facilities, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors. The role includes healthcare setting responsibilities and shift scheduling through the Claim a Shift platform.

The position requires a guard card or license (preferred), 18+ for unarmed roles, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background and drug screening.

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, behavioral health concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and assist with visitor direction, staff support, and incident documentation.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
