Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated Security Guard I for the Monmouth, NJ location to protect patients, visitors, and staff. You will monitor entrances, patrol facilities, respond to emergencies, and document incidents with clear written reports.

You will work as part of a security team ensuring a safe, welcoming environment while maintaining professional presence and excellent customer service in a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey SORA certification required.
• Prior experience as a Security Guard or in public safety or customer-facing role preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, outdoors and in varying weather.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and fast-paced situations.
• Experience handling conflict and de-escalation.
• Basic knowledge of emergency procedures and security best practices.
• Strong written communication for incident documentation.

As part of our Security team, you will help maintain a secure, safe, and welcoming environment by monitoring building entrances and perimeters, responding to incidents and emergencies, preparing reports, and assisting patients, visitors, and staff when needed. Role Overview:

• Monitor building entrances, interior spaces, parking areas, and exterior perimeters to maintain safety and access control
• Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to potential safety or security concerns throughout the facility
• Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance
• De-escalate disruptive or challenging situations using sound judgment and professionalism
• Investigate incidents and complete accurate and detailed written reports
• Operate surveillance systems, access control systems, and other security-related technology
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and facilities teams to support a safe patient care environment
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and a visible security presence
• Support emergency preparedness and response procedures as needed

Key Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey SORA Certification required
• Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related public safety or customer-facing role preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including outdoors and during varying weather conditions
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or fast-paced situations
• Experience handling conflict resolution and de-escalating difficult interactions preferred
• Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and security best practices
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using security and reporting systems

Pay Range: $24.05 - $44.92
