Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Senior Specialist to protect employees, patients, and the environment by leading and improving our safety programs. • Experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, or a related discipline.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing occupational health and safety programs and systems.
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles, environmental regulations, exposure monitoring, and risk management practices.
• Possession of CIH, CSP, ASP, or CHMM certifications.
• Healthcare experience not required; candidates from regulated industries encouraged to apply.

• Lead and support occupational health and safety and environmental compliance programs across the organization.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, and systems to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety surveillance activities, workplace inspections, and compliance evaluations.
• Perform occupational, environmental, and safety audits and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze incident, exposure monitoring, and safety-related data to identify trends, develop reports, and inform decision-making.
• Research and interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational processes and programs.
• Develop and deliver training, awareness campaigns, and educational resources on occupational health, safety, and environmental topics.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across departments, building partnerships to support enterprise-wide safety initiatives.
• Support emergency response activities, hazardous waste management programs, and incident investigations as needed.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Senior Specialist

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), our Environmental Health & Safety team plays a critical role in protecting employees, patients, visitors, and the environment. The EHS Senior Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of occupational health and safety programs, partnering with stakeholders across the organization to advance a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Role Overview

Key Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, or a related discipline.




• Experience designing, implementing, and managing occupational health and safety programs and systems.




• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles, environmental regulations, exposure monitoring, and risk management practices.




• Possession of one or more of the following certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).




• Experience in healthcare is not required; candidates from manufacturing, pharmaceutical, higher education, logistics, and other regulated industries are encouraged to apply.
