Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard – Full Time Unarmed Patrol Response in Reading, PA. You will monitor campus areas, deter incidents, assist students and staff, and report observations using tablet tools while delivering professional customer service.

Requirements include at least 6 months of security experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background and drug screening, and a valid driver''s license for driving positions.

Qualifications

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation as required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver''s license is required for driving positions only.

• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs according to site requirements.

Job Description

As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Patrol Response in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, document observations using computer or tablet tools, and support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service. Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour

• Security Experience:
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience. This experience should be clearly outlined in the candidate's resume and discussed during the interview process.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
