Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 per year

Description

Notre Dame Preparatory School (NDP), a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6-12 located in Towson, Maryland, is seeking a full-time, 10-month Security Guard for the 2025-2026 school year. The position runs from August 16th to June 15th, including new employee orientation and a technology training session in mid-August 2025.

Approximate working hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.

Summary

The Security Guard’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and buildings by monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the property, and responding to emergencies. The Security Guard also monitors and enforces NDP’s campus rules professionally.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor assigned areas; report suspicious activities to local authorities
• Monitor surveillance cameras, inspect property, and oversee crowd control
• Contact law enforcement or fire department in case of emergencies
• Check doors, windows, and gates after hours to ensure security
• Investigate reports of suspicious activity
• Detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives
• Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and unwelcome parties from the premises
• Manage on-premises traffic daily
• Support weekend and off-hours events as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
• Professional communication skills (verbal and written) and authoritative demeanor
• Calmness in high-pressure situations
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings
• Clean driving record and ability to operate all-terrain vehicles safely around crowds

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Security guard training certification preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience
• Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to patrol the property quickly, either on foot or by vehicle
• Prolonged periods of sitting and monitoring surveillance equipment
• Vigilance and alertness for extended periods
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

The annual salary ranges from $40,000 to $50,000, commensurate with experience.
