Job summary

MonkeyJar is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Dallas, TX to perform protective and preventative security duties, patrols, and access control. You will monitor surveillance, greet visitors, and coordinate with local authorities as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and CPR/First Aid certification; prior security experience is preferred. A flexible schedule including weekends may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the facility.
• Maintaining a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times.
• Monitoring surveillance systems for intrusion and unauthorized activities.
• Controlling access of employees and visitors.
• Responding to intrusion, fire, and health/safety related incidents.
• Maintaining duty and visitor logs.
• Greeting visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Coordinating with police, fire and EMS personnel.
• Other duties as required by contract.

Implements and monitors all security operations in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats.

Implements and monitors all security operations in accordance with all applicable laws and company policies in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats.

Major Responsibilities Include

• Maintaining security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the secure facility
• Maintaining a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times
• Monitoring surveillance systems for intrusion and unauthorized activities
• Controlling access of employees and/or visitor
• Responding to intrusion, fire, and health/safety related incidents
• Maintaining legible duty and visitor logs
• Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Coordinating with police, fire and emergency medical personnel
• Other specific duties as may be required by the contract

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous security experience preferred (prior military highly desirable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Ability to quickly learn the layout of the facility, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas
• Fingerprint card, current CPR/First Aid certification required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver's license with no suspensions or revocations within the past 7 years
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property
• Must have the ability to communicate in English
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
