Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety in Connecticut is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems, including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV and other low-voltage equipment.

You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and document work while traveling to job sites as needed. A license (C6 or L6) and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• C6 or L6 License required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently service and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and perform corrective actions promptly.
• Test functionality and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Read blueprints and system layouts; complete service documentation on time.
• Travel to job sites as required.
