Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is hiring a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV across CT-area sites.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and communicate with customers and teammates. Requires 3+ years in fire and life safety, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Company vehicle provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• C6 or L6 License required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Must be willing to do fire alarm work as required.
