Job summary

Wellmark is seeking an experienced Security Engineering leader to guide a multidisciplinary team, driving the delivery of secure solutions across infrastructure, cloud, applications, and data platforms.

You will partner with risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to align security priorities with organizational objectives, leveraging agile practices, automation, and innovative technologies to reduce risk and enhance resilience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive IT experience.
Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
Experience mentoring and developing technical professionals in leadership roles.
Ability to influence decisions and promote security controls across teams.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership to Security Engineering teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute Security Engineering roadmaps aligned with risk management and regulatory needs.
Lead efforts to strengthen security posture by identifying gaps, reducing debt, and prioritising remediation.
Drive automation, orchestration, and modern engineering practices to improve efficiency and resilience.
