Job summary

Allstate Insurance seeks a Managing Engineer, Cloud Security Engineering to lead a hands-on team building cloud security controls as software products. You will guide architecture decisions, ensure reliable, scalable security capabilities, and align with product managers and platform teams to deliver secure cloud solutions.

You will coach engineers, shape roadmaps, and champion modern delivery practices to maintain high security standards across cloud environments and developer workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software, cloud, platform, or security engineering experience with production systems.
• 2+ years of experience leading and developing engineers through people leadership and hands-on guidance.
• Deep experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including cloud-native services, architectures, and security controls.
• Strong proficiency with Python, Bash, Terraform, and cloud-native automation tools.
• Ability to translate security requirements and risks into scalable engineering solutions and automated controls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering initiatives and manage cross-team dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop an engineering team delivering cloud security controls as software products with hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Set technical direction and drive execution across design, implementation, deployment, and production support.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, and critical implementation support.
• Own the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of production products.
• Partner with product managers, platform teams, and stakeholders to align roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Foster an engineering culture of modern delivery practices, rapid feedback, and accountability.
• Translate complex cloud security needs into scalable patterns and automated capabilities.
• Drive effective Agile execution with a focus on delivery outcomes.
